Farm Equipment Operator

Welcome to Strange Farms!We2re hiring a Farm Equipment Operator for our grain operation in Holden, MO (about 50 miles southeast of Kansas City) to join our team long-term. In this role you will operate farm and other heavy equipment, drive trucks, and perform routine maintenance on equipment. You will also work with and prepare fertilizers/pesticides and help with other general farm duties.

We are a progressive fifth generation family owned and operated farm and take great pride in agriculture, farming, and what we do. We farm about 2700 acres of corn and soybeans and 120 acres of hay annually. We do all our own maintenance/repair work and our own soil conservation work (terracing, tile, etc.). We believe in using the latest technology and equipment.

• Operating farm and other heavy equipment such as tractors (all sizes from small utility to large 4WD), sprayer, spreader, skid steer, bulldozer, track hoe, lawn mower, etc.
• Driving trucks hauling equipment and grain.
• Performing routine maintenance on farm and other heavy equipment.
• Working with anhydrous ammonia, dry fertilizers, and pesticides.
• Performing general farm duties as necessary.

• Experience in agriculture or farming, preferably operating farm and/or other heavy equipment. We are willing to train the right person.
• Mechanically inclined with ability to perform routing maintenance on equipment.
• Ability to work with chemicals, anhydrous ammonia, dry fertilizers, and pesticides.
• Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons.
• Self-motivated, good attention to detail, and ability to keep things organized.
• Work well with a team and independently with little to no supervision to complete tasks.
