Position Details
Role: Veterinary Technician
Status: Full-time
Compensation: A flexible approach to compensation that reflects your skill set and future performance
Schedule: 4-5 day workweek, including rotating Saturdays
Experience: Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred; experienced veterinary assistant/technician candidates are welcome

House Springs Animal Clinic is looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our experienced and compassionate team. We're a two-doctor small animal practice that has proudly served Jefferson County and the surrounding communities for more than 47 years.
Our hospital combines decades of trusted community care with modern veterinary medicine. We offer in-house laboratory capabilities, digital radiography, patient surgical monitoring, surgical laser technology, and more. Whether you're a credentialed veterinary technician or an experienced assistant/technician, you'll have the opportunity to use your skills, continue learning, and make an impact on patients every day.

- Triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories, vital signs, and patient assessments
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care from intake through discharge
- Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and diagnostic sample collection
- Obtain high-quality radiographs while maintaining appropriate imaging standards
- Perform in-house laboratory testing, including CBC/chemistry, urinalysis, cytology, fecal testing, and more
- Support surgical and dental procedures, including preparation, monitoring, recovery, and instrument care
- Monitor anesthesia and patient vital signs during procedures and maintain accurate records
- Provide patient monitoring and supportive care, including TPRs, pain scoring, wound care, and recovery support
- Use Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques to help keep patients safe and comfortable
- Educate clients about patient care, medications, discharge instructions, and preventive care
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient charts
- Document patient care and treatments clearly and efficiently
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment and exam areas
- Follow established infection-control protocols
- Collaborate with the team to maintain an efficient workflow and positive hospital culture
- Participate in ongoing training and professional growth opportunities
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred
- Experienced veterinary assistant/technician candidates are welcome
