Job Summary
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining workplace health and safety programs within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements, promotes a strong safety culture, and supports continuous improvement initiatives across operations. Leadership to proactively to guide and direct teams and associates to reduce or eliminate workplace incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage company safety policies, procedures, and training programs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments throughout the facility
- Investigate accidents, injuries, near misses, and safety concerns; identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Lead and coordinate safety committee meetings and plant-wide safety initiatives
- Maintain OSHA logs, incident reports, and required compliance documentation
- In conjunction with HR, monitor workers’ compensation claims and assist with return-to-work programs
- Coordinate and deliver safety training for new hires, supervisors, and employees
- Partner with operations, maintenance, HR, and leadership teams to improve workplace safety performance
- Track and report safety KPIs, including incident rates, corrective actions, and training completion
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe operating procedures across all departments
- Support emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response procedures
- Recommend process improvements and safety enhancements to minimize risk and improve operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety standards
- Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or OSHA certification preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and training skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems
- Travel is required 30% - 50% of the time.

- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
- Ability to influence and build a strong safety culture at all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk production floors and conduct facility inspections regularly
- Ability to occasionally lift up to a minimum of 55 pounds
- Exposure to manufacturing environments including noise, machinery, and varying temperatures
- Must be able to climb and not be afraid of heights
