Job Summary:

As a Ride Maintenance Support Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of various Quality Control inspections for all designated rides and/or attractions at Silver Dollar City. The Ride Maintenance Support Specialist must be detailed oriented and meticulous.
Our guests travel from all around the country to experience our internationally awarded 1880s-style theme park with over 40 thrilling rides and attractions.

  • Assist in the development of internal Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures.
  • Perform inspections of purchased parts, and sub-assemblies received by M&C Warehouse.
  • Perform inspections of parts, weldments and assemblies manufactured in-house by the M&C Machine Shop and/or Weld Shop.
  • Assist in the completion of predictive & condition-based maintenance procedures such as Oil Analysis, Gauss Meter Testing & Vibration Analysis on various amusement rides & devices.
  • Utilize technical drawings, standards, codebooks, and other forms of documentation to perform the tasks above.
  • Document results of inspections & testing outlined above.
  • Assist with the scanning, organization, and upkeep of ride maintenance documents and QA/QC records.
  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical & electrical systems on various amusement rides & devices in the park.
  • Effectively communicate with others on your team, other maintenance teams, and all other divisional employees and leadership.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively with other maintenance teams and all other divisional employees and leadership.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by leadership.

Required

Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of basic measurement & inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Must have advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and a background check.
  • Must be able to read and understand technical/engineering drawings.
  • Must be able to tolerate a year-round outdoor environment; cold and hot temperatures.
  • Ability to withstand heights, climbs stairs, walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds (assisted).
  • Must be able to read, write, comprehend instructions and communicate in English.
  • Must be to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Missouri Class E Driver's License or resident state equivalent.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Associate’s Degree in a field related to inspection or quality management preferred.
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in quality control/inspection in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proof of current certification(s) in any related field or equipment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.
  • Prior experience in visual inspection of welds. Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an ASNT VT Level II Certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ASTM F24 Standards preferred
