Job Description

Our client is seeking a Metrology Technician with calibration and instrumentation repair experience.

This temporary position supports the St. Louis JJ Pilot Plant’s diverse team in the operation of biological drug substance production via mammalian and bacterial fermentation processes. Calibration activities ensure regulatory compliance for the production of supplies used in toxicological studies and clinical trials.

Responsibilities
  • Perform calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation associated with the pilot plants.
  • Operate according to approved local and global procedures.
  • Work under the guidance of the existing permanent Metrology staff.
  • Conduct hands-on calibration, provide technical support, and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with FDA and cGMP guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Strong technical background in calibration and repair of process and scientific instrumentation.
  • High School Diploma, trade school, or relevant experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of calibration and instrumentation repair experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment, preferably in bioprocess or chemical processing industries.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision post-training.
  • Knowledge of calibration practices in regulated environments.
  • Training and qualification for gowning in a Clean Environmental Area.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Operational knowledge of computerized systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interface with automated systems.
  • Commitment to safety and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Experience working in a GMP Clean Room environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for document generation.
