Position Title: Quality Control Supervisor
Wage: Based on Experience
Location: Marshfield, MO
This is a direct hire position.
Responsibilities- Lead and oversee daily laboratory operations, testing programs, and quality systems
- Ensure laboratory readiness for customer, regulatory, and third-party audits and inspections
- Maintain compliance with food safety regulations, FSMA requirements, Food Safety Plans, GFSI standards, and internal policies
- Manage microbiological testing programs, environmental monitoring activities, and product release processes
- Oversee the accuracy and completion of Certificates of Analysis (COAs), quality documentation, specifications, and testing records
- Serve as the primary owner of laboratory quality data management, including ERP systems and other quality management platforms
- Lead investigations related to customer complaints, product returns, and quality issues, ensuring timely resolution and corrective actions
- Facilitate laboratory performance reviews, quality meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner with Research & Development, Product Management, Production, Planning, and Sales teams to support new product development, formula approvals, shelf‑life studies, and customer requirements
- Act as the primary liaison between site operations and corporate quality teams to ensure alignment on quality standards, testing requirements, and operational needs
- Develop, maintain, and improve laboratory procedures, testing methods, and quality documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction
- Enter microbiological testing results for products requiring testing prior to product release
- Maintain quality control data within ERP and quality management systems and ensure proper documentation retention
- Ensure all testing‑related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are accurate, current, and readily available
- Maintain quality performance indicators and reporting metrics while ensuring accessibility for appropriate teams
- Coordinate with suppliers and external partners regarding product quality concerns, production issues, and equipment needs
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or a minimum of six years of experience in a laboratory or quality environment
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to read and comprehend documents such as standard operating procedures, equipment manuals, and product formulas
- Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from colleagues, cross‑functional departments, and auditors
- Ability to interpret testing results and follow established SOPs for appropriate actions
- Ability to operate a variety of laboratory equipment, instruments, and standard office equipment
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety systems, and ISO compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, as well as database and ERP systems
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rates, ratios, percentages, and volumes using metric measurements
