EHS & Quality Assurance Specialist
Job SummaryDevises, implements and oversees all plant quality assurance and control programs, practices and procedures in support of established production standards and company business objectives. May implement and oversee food, safety, and environmental programs. Implements continuous improvement actions and lean manufacturing techniques to ensure quality levels remain high and consistent. Collaborates with plant management and advises and consults on all continuous improvement and quality/safety related issues.
Key Responsibilities- Onsite Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Develops and implements EH&S & Quality programs
- Conducts inspections and audits and recognizes hazards
- Prepares solutions to environmental or safety concerns
- Coordinates training for safety and health matters and accident prevention
- Keeps records of programs as required by law and internal procedures
- Tracks and evaluates audit program and recommends continuous improvements
- Contributes to the review and preparations of EH&S policies
- Monitors, analyzes, and advises on new EH&S regulations applicable to operations
- Responsible for internal and external compliance reporting
- Reviews and advises on EH&S managed programs
- Conducts training sessions at corporate and facility levels
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Measures customer satisfaction and takes corrective action as appropriate and implements techniques to ensure quality levels remain high and consistent
Typically possesses a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations, and ISO 9000 standards. Ability to identify unsafe work practices and/or recognize processes subject to safety/environmental regulations. Takes an analytical approach to complex issues and problem solving. Ability to train and coach colleagues on issues relating to EH&S. Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software and Internet research.
Possesses some knowledge of or experience with quality assurance/control in a production setting. Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills. Possesses strong project management skills. Ability to operate various types of testing equipment. Prior knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations, and ISO 9000 standards is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and any other relevant software.
CompensationPay range: $62,300.00 - $. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between $78,000.00 to $82,000.00. Offers may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
