Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
Required Experience
  • Experience performing Failure Analysis on metal components and products.

Job Responsibilities

The Quality/Test Engineer will be responsible for performing material evaluations, failure analysis, product testing, and quality investigations to ensure products meet engineering and customer quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metallurgy, materials science, and quality engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive customer requests and document product conditions upon receipt.
  • Create and manage work orders while coordinating testing activities with laboratory technicians.
  • Perform failure analysis on components and determine root causes of failures.
  • Conduct metallurgical evaluations using microscopy and other analytical techniques.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports with findings, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Review and validate reports with senior engineering staff.
  • Develop sampling procedures and quality inspection processes.
  • Design and maintain documentation for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Evaluate production equipment, testing methods, and measurement systems for precision and accuracy.
  • Support investigations related to product reliability and manufacturing quality.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints during inspections.
  • Assist with process improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop training materials and conduct quality-related training sessions when required.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing or heavy equipment industries.
  • Knowledge of metrology and laboratory testing procedures.
  • Experience with product reliability testing.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
