The QA/QC Lead Inspector provides strategic leadership and absolute operational oversight for the entire facility quality inspection program. This role manages inspection scheduling, governs final structural and electrical test approvals, and serves as the ultimate objective gatekeeper ensuring every modular building complies fully with regulatory guidelines and client contracts.
The QA/QC Lead Inspector is accountable for the total compliance, regulatory alignment, and external audit readiness of the facility's quality program. Operating under a dual‑reporting framework, this role holds ultimate uncompromised authority to halt production or block product shipments if quality metrics, national codes, or state certification benchmarks are not met.
- Team & Operations Management:Supervise the daily tasks, shift scheduling, and trade bay assignments of the entire facility quality inspection team (Techs I, II, and III).
- Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT):Manage and co‑lead all customer‑witnessed FAT inspections alongside the Project Manager, serving as the official signatory for final product acceptance and shipping release.
- Regulatory & Certification Compliance:Auditwork shopand yard processes to guarantee full compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), AWS welding frameworks, and specific state modular building certification requirements.
- Corporate & Local Alignment:Serve as the uncompromised liaison between the corporate QA/QC Manager and the local General Manager, balancing strict compliance mandates with plant throughput targets.
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven technical competence in modular PDC construction, with a demonstrated ability to lead multi‑trade teams, arbitrate compliance disputes, and interface effectively with industrial clients. Direct facility experience may be substituted for formal degree or tenure requirements.
- Quality Management, or equivalent veteran quality experience (8+ years in heavy multi‑trade fabrication, including 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role).
- Deep practical understanding of industrial structural drawings, construction tolerances, and general electrical systems layout.
- Prior history managing inspection data or coordinating quality checkpoints within an active structural fabrication plant, shipyard, or steel fabrication environment.
- Familiarity with multi‑state modular building certification frameworks, NEC codes, or basic root‑cause failure analysis (RCFA).
- Supervise the daily tasks, shift scheduling, and trade bay assignments of the entire facility quality inspection team (Techs I, II, and III).
- High‑density field activity co‑leading complex FAT windows alongside industrial clients, balanced with administrative desk work.
- Ability to safely navigate all indoor and outdoor production spaces across all weather conditions.
- Comfort interfacing with high‑level clients and regulatory officials under high‑pressure testing environments.
- 100% success and pass rate on all customer‑witnessed Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Perfect audit pass records with external regulatory bodies and state modular certification boards.
- Alignment and operational harmony between corporate compliance thresholds and local plant delivery milestones.
