Summary

The Quality Engineer designs, installs, and evaluates QA process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques. Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment. Analyzes production and service limitations and standards. Monitors manufacturing process, fabrication, inspection, test, and shipping activities. Recommends revisions of specifications. Formulates QA policies and procedures and conducts training on QA concepts and tools. Interfaces with other engineering functions and with customers and suppliers on quality‑related issues.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with analysis of routine contract requirements to determine which quality characteristics must be controlled.
  • Validate SPC limits and controls; audit processes to ensure proper use and trigger corrective action when limits are exceeded.
  • Review contract data descriptions and requirements to establish necessary controls for compliance.
  • Create control plans aligned to customer, product, regulatory, and sector requirements.
  • Participate in pilot runs and pre‑production runs; assist with basic analysis of results.
  • Review production and manufacturing specification processes to ensure conformance to drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Establish quality controls over all production processes and testing during the product cycle.
  • Generate and review specification documents, drawings, and acceptance test procedures.
  • Conduct measurement capability and correlation studies to ensure continual adequacy and capability.
  • Monitor special test programs on assemblies, components, and special processes to address design changes or emerging problems.
  • Assist in inspection and testing of pre‑production equipment to ensure compliance prior to customer acceptance.
  • Prepare summaries and analyses of evaluations, including charts and graphs, under guidance of senior engineers.
  • Maintain records and files in all relevant QA documentation.
  • Perform QA audits to determine program effectiveness and prepare audit reports.
  • Participate in verification (First Article Configuration Inspection) of hardware versus drawings/specifications.
  • Prepare corrective action documentation in response to customer inquiries or complaints regarding inspection, test, and production activities.
  • Drive corrective, preventive, and closure actions for project quality and test nonconformities.
  • Use Key Process Indicators (KPIs) to assess process effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support cross‑functional teams in executing quality‑improvement projects targeting scrap reduction and supplier quality.
  • Write verification and validation documentation and conduct required testing as needed.
  • Assist in standardizing manufacturing processes for global customer accounts.

  • Knowledge of domestic and international requirements, standards, and regulations (FDA QSR, ISO, ITAR, IATF).
  • Familiarity with electronics manufacturing and advanced technologies.
  • Accredited certification preferred; ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Education

4‑year Engineering or Technical degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
