Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Aviation Quality Control Inspector to join a growing aviation operation in Chesterfield, Missouri. This position is responsible for supporting day-to-day Quality operations and ensuring aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul, and refurbishment work meets company, customer, and applicable FAA requirements.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of FAA regulations and Repair Station operations, hands-on familiarity with aircraft maintenance and inspection processes, and exceptional attention to detail. Experience involving aircraft interiors and paint operations is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Quality activities to ensure continued compliance with applicable requirements.
- Perform and document in-process and final inspections of aircraft-related work.
- Review completed work orders for accuracy, required documentation, data, and signatures.
- Perform final project release procedures and Certificate of Conformance (CofC) issuance.
- Work directly with maintenance inspectors, technicians, customer Quality personnel, and FAA representatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable FAA regulations and other regulatory requirements.
- Research aircraft maintenance records related to interior refurbishment and other project requirements.
- Assist technicians with technical and regulatory questions.
- Review work-order discrepancy sheets for accuracy and timely completion.
- Assist with documentation for Major Repairs and Alterations, FAA Field Approvals, and FAA Form 8130-3.
- Communicate with regulatory personnel, manufacturer representatives, and DARs when technical guidance or airworthiness clarification is required.
- Help resolve Quality Control concerns across departments while ensuring projects remain compliant and on schedule.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate should have:
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations applicable to Repair Station operations, including 14 CFR Parts 1, 21, 23, 39, 43, 91, 135, and 145.
- Strong familiarity with aircraft maintenance operations.
- Aircraft interior and/or paint operations experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of aviation Quality Control and inspection practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to communicate professionally with technicians, customers, inspectors, and regulatory representatives.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with aviation systems such as Corridor, AMSTAT, CAMP, STARS, and CESSCOM is beneficial.
Additional Hands-On Aviation Experience
This position may also support aircraft cabinetry operations. Relevant experience may include building or modifying VVIP-quality aircraft cabinetry, monuments, and interior components, reading blueprints and technical drawings, working with engineers/designers, and maintaining strict aviation quality standards.
