Schedule: 4:00am-12:30pm

Pay: Starting at $18/hour (commensurate with experience)

ABOUT THE POSITION

The QC technician supports food safety and product quality by inspecting materials and products, completing quality tests, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure DFS standards are consistently met.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Perform and document quality and food safety inspections of raw materials, ingredients, in-process products, finished products, equipment, and facility areas.
  • Conduct required product testing and evaluations, including weights, temperatures, seals, chemical, organoleptic, and other assigned analyses.
  • Verify production and QC documentation, lot codes, product specifications, FIFO, shelf life, allergen controls, storage practices, and material traceability.
  • Monitor compliance with DFS SOPs, GMPs, SSOPs, HACCP plans, and food safety requirements; identify and document non-conforming conditions.
  • Place non-conforming materials or products on QC Hold, maintain required records, and communicate quality or food safety concerns to appropriate leadership.
  • Inspect, verify, and calibrate assigned QC and laboratory equipment and support required facility, warehouse, shipping/receiving, and food safety audits.
  • Maintain accurate QC records and data, support employee training, and assist with additional quality and food safety activities as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • High school diploma or GED required; education or experience in Quality, Food Science, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills with the ability to accurately complete inspections, testing, calculations, and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify product, material, food safety, and quality concerns.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn GMP, HACCP, SSOP, allergen control, FIFO, product specifications, and food manufacturing requirements.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively across Production, Warehouse, and Quality teams.
  • Ability to follow testing procedures, use and calibrate QC/laboratory equipment, and maintain accurate records..
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position and work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
  • Must have adequate vision, hearing, and color recognition to safely perform job duties.
