A leading advisory and consulting firm focused on real estate, economic development, and urban strategy is seeking a Director-level professional to join its Los Angeles team and help lead projects focused on housing affordability, real estate economics, and community development.
This is a senior-level opportunity for someone who understands both housing policy and the economics of real estate development and can translate complex market, financial, and policy considerations into practical strategies for clients.
The Director will work across a range of housing and real estate engagements, partnering with public agencies, developers, housing organizations, institutional stakeholders, and community leaders.
The work can span housing strategy, market analysis, development feasibility, affordable housing finance, public-private partnerships, policy design, and real estate transactions

This person will play a meaningful role in leading client engagements, managing project teams, developing recommendations, and helping shape the firm's broader housing and real estate advisory practice.
Key Responsibilities- Lead complex housing, real estate, and community development engagements from strategy through execution
- Conduct and oversee housing market and feasibility analysis
, including supply/demand, market conditions, pricing, and development economics - Build and review real estate financial models and development pro formas
- Evaluate the economic feasibility and potential impact of housing policies and programs
- Advise clients on housing strategies, development opportunities, financing approaches, and public-private partnerships
- Research and assess tools such as inclusionary housing, preservation strategies, development incentives, and affordable housing investment programs
- Lead stakeholder engagement with public officials, developers, community organizations, and other senior stakeholders
- Present findings and recommendations to senior client stakeholders
- Develop high-quality client deliverables, including reports, memos, presentations, and financial analyses
The strongest candidates will bring a combination of real estate finance/development expertise, housing knowledge, analytical ability, and client-facing leadership

Typically, this includes:
- 6-10+ years of relevant experience in housing policy, real estate development, real estate finance, market analysis, consulting, or a related field
- Strong experience with real estate underwriting and financial modeling
- Understanding of multifamily real estate economics, including supply/demand, market dynamics, development costs, pricing, and feasibility
- Experience with affordable housing finance is highly valued
