Associate Scientist, Purification Process Development
W2 Contract
Salary Range: $109,000 - $129,000 per year
Job SummaryWe are seeking to hire an Associate Scientist to join our Bioprocess Development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, executing, and documenting upstream and downstream process runs to support our large molecule pipeline.
Duties and Responsibilities- Execute lab- and pilot-scale chromatography and filtration experiments to supply non-clinical studies and develop manufacturing scale processes.
- Support upstream bioreactor execution and harvest operations.
- Execute media and buffer preparation, filtration, and testing.
- Maintain existing workflows to provide purification support for cell line and cell culture development activities.
- Execute in-process testing using HPLC, UV, and microbial-based assays.
- Summarize key experimental data and document all experiments in an electronic lab notebook in a timely and compliant manner.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in Technical Operations and other functions to achieve project goals.
- BS/MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline with 2+ years of industry experience
- Hands-on experience with AKTA protein purification systems, TFF systems
- Excellent critical thinking, scientific problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience working in GLP or GMP laboratory environments, with strong attention to documentation and data integrity
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture (e.g., CHO) is a plus
- Experience with aseptic technique
