CARB’s Exposure Reduction Section, a part of the Transportation and Toxics Division, is seeking a current student who has applied to or is enrolled in a college curriculum in engineering or the sciences to work part-time in CARB’s air toxics programs.

The successful candidate may perform literature review of characteristics and health effects of airborne toxics; assist staff with data gathering and technical analyses necessary to perform health risk assessments; and may attend and provide support during community outreach meetings. The student may also assist staff with the compilation and review of environmental impact reports and other California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) related documents, and in the preparation of commentary documents.

Under close supervision of the section manager and in conjunction with Scientists and Engineers, the Air Resources Technician II (ART II) may assist with analyzing and quantifying emissions from sources of air toxics and may conduct research, document review, data analysis and data management.
