Shift

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (some overtime will be required during busy months)

Scientist 1 - Organics | $18.00 per hour. Salary range reflects factors such as candidate’s geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills, internal equity, market conditions, budgetary considerations, and organizational compensation guidelines.

• Work with instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP and more.
• Analyze air, water, and soil samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods to detect environmental contaminants.
• Review and interpret results from the sample analysis.
• Accurately document procedures, observations, and results to maintain high‑quality, organized laboratory records.
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related STEM field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, working around strong odors, and wearing required PPE.

Must be able to work in a lab and office setting, use standard office and lab equipment, and have stamina to sit for extended periods. May need to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently when lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or moving objects. Requires vision to read printed materials and computer screens, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the phone.
