Research Assistants are normally students, in a University of Winnipeg undergraduate program, employed to assist with tasks related to research. Work is performed within defined guidelines and under supervision of a more senior researcher or faculty member.
Position OverviewThe Research Assistant supports the supervisor in updating the bibliographical resources of the Chair in German-Canadian Studies, to further its goals of building a German-Canadian archive and fostering knowledge through its open access initiative. The RA is responsible for adding bibliographical and reference details for both digital and physical sources to a Zotero library.
Duties- The RA will be trained in Zotero, a bibliographical software, and in formatting bibliographical details in Chicago style.
- The RA will integrate bibliographical details from physical and digital sources into Zotero, either according to an existing organizational structure or by creating new entries.
- A background in history or related disciplines, strong research and computer skills, and excellent attention to detail.
- Close attention to correct spelling.
- Some familiarity with referencing and formatting in Chicago Style an asset.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
The period of work will be from June 25, 2026 - September 4, 2026 and the estimated total hours of work will be 0-50 hours
