Job Description

We are seeking a Scientist to join the Inflammation biology group at Gilead Sciences. Drive discovery and development of therapies aimed at restoring tissue function in patients with metabolic and inflammatory diseases, combining hands‑on experimentation with scientific leadership from concept through clinical development.

• Design, execute, and interpret experiments to identify/validate novel targets and mechanisms underlying tissue dysfunction.
• Lead and contribute to drug discovery projects; translate biological insights into testable hypotheses and actionable strategies.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to advance programs.
• Synthesize and present findings to internal stakeholders; contribute to external publications/presentations.
• Mentor and provide scientific guidance to team members and research partners.

• Ph.D. in immunology, metabolism, or cell biology; 0–3 years postdoctoral or industry experience.
• Deep expertise in immunology/inflammation, tissue regeneration, or metabolic disease biology.
• Peer‑reviewed publications (high impact), focused on tissue regeneration/mechanisms of tissue repair, metabolism, or myeloid cell biology in tissue dysfunction/disease.
• Proficiency with primary cell culture, ex vivo tissue models, and/or relevant in vivo disease models.
• Strong analytical skills; rigorous, reproducible science.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

• Ex vivo organoid models of lung and liver.
• Bridging immunology and tissue regeneration/metabolic diseases.
• Deep myeloid biology expertise in metabolic and inflammatory diseases.
