Job Description
Allied Technologies and Consulting (ATC) is currently looking for a Research Physiologist to join our team to support the U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine (USARIEM) at Fort Leonard-Wood, MO. This role supports human integrative physiology studies in operational environments, including military training environments, in accordance with applicable federal, DoD, and DHA regulations. This position is based on-site at Fort Leonard-Wood, Missouri.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Conduct and support real-time data collection using human physiological measurement techniques, including force platform systems, activity and sleep monitoring, psychological health and mental readiness assessments, biological sample collection and processing, heart rate, blood pressure, and related physical health assessments.
- Perform coordination of scientific and human use documents with the Institutional Review Board (IRB), the Office of Research Quality Compliance, and all other related committees.
- Organize and analyze human physiological data; support analysis and creation of figures, manuscripts, conference presentation materials, and reports.
- Prepare tables and graphs in journal-appropriate format for reports and manuscripts.
- Prepare and present findings at national and/or international conferences.
- Develop standard operating procedures for field data collection and laboratory techniques as required.
- Coordinate in-field human research investigations, including supply inventory and ordering, coordinating transportation of equipment and biological samples, and organizing travel of study personnel.
- Coordinate and lead a team of investigators to execute field studies at military bases; familiarity with military customs required.
- Provide study coordination services across the research lifecycle.
- Master's degree or higher required, in Human Bioenergetics, Exercise Physiology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in applied human performance research, data analysis, and program development within military or tactical populations.
- Subject matter expertise in psychological health, mental readiness training, musculoskeletal injury, human performance, and exercise assessments.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead teams executing field studies at military installations.
- Proficiency with government procurement processes for supplies and equipment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation to large audiences.
Position requires a favorably adjudicated Tier 3 background investigation (or equivalent). An interim favorable determination is required prior to commencement of work. Contractor personnel must complete DoD-mandated training upon onboarding and annually thereafter, including DoD Cyber Awareness, HIPAA/Privacy Act, AT Level 1, INFOSEC, OPSEC, CUI, and Counterintelligence Awareness. Work may be required outside normal business hours, including weekends and holidays, to support field research.
Some CONUS travel is required. Employee must be a U.S. Citizen; must pass Background Investigation and Drug Testing. Position is contingent on contract award. Level of effort is estimated at 1,912 hours per 12-month period.
