Cali , a division of Scripps Research is a not-for profit research institute located in La Jolla, California. Cali  is focused on innovative early stage translational research in the areas of regenerative medicine, cancer biology, cardiovascular and metabolic disease, immunology and infectious disease.

Position Overview:

Cali , a division of Scripps Research (Cali ) is seeking a research scientist/postdoctoral fellow to join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of scientists focused on early stage translational research. The researcher will work as part of a team of scientists to small molecule and peptide drug discovery for metabolic diseases related research. Research activities include mammalian cell-based assay development and optimization and high throughput cell-based screens, elucidation of biologically relevant targets/mechanisms of action and elaboration of protein or small molecules toward pre-clinical drug candidates.

Researchers are encouraged to publish their findings in high impact, peer-reviewed journals.

• Small molecule drug discovery for diabetes related research.
• PhD or MS level scientist with experience in chemical biology, cell biology, molecular biology with demonstrated research excellence and multitasking ability
• Previous experience in diabetes research, GPCR biology and pharmacology will be a plus
• Highly motivated, creative, and able to maintain excellent documentation of their work
• Able to collaborate proficiently and communicate effectively with colleagues and management teams
• Previous postdoctoral experience is acceptable, but not required.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must possess a strong work ethic
