Overview
As our Bartender, you will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. To succeed in this position, you should have an engaging and friendly personality, be efficient, observant, and knowledgeable.
This position is for the 2026 season, start dates range during May, Memorial Day weekend through the summer availability required.
This position may require flexible scheduling availability.
Responsibilities- Greet customers and engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Learn guest preferences, provide beverage recommendations, and answer questions about the menu.
- Prepare and serve beverages and food while following all company, local, and state guidelines.
- Ensure the bar service space remains well-stocked at all times.
- Receive beverage orders and coordinate with the kitchen as needed.
- Clean and sanitize tables, countertops, and floors after service.
- Process payments or charge transactions to guest accounts according to policy.
- Validate customers’ IDs and monitor beverage consumption to address intoxication appropriately.
- Be readily available and approachable for all guests while maintaining professionalism.
- Know local health and safety codes and regulations that apply to the hotel.
- Maintain a well-stocked bar service space at all times.
- Receive beverage orders and direct them to the kitchen as needed.
- Clean and sanitize areas after service.
- Prepare and serve classic and innovative drinks while following all company, local, and state guidelines.
- Validate IDs and monitor alcohol service in accordance with policy.
- Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement.
- Effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Ability to work well in stressful situations.
- Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time. The employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
