Katie’s Pizza and Pasta is an artisan Italian restaurant built on the foundation of the

successful Katie’s Pizzeria in Clayton, which was founded and operated by Katie Lee in

2008. Katie’s Pizza and Pasta serves Katie’s award-winning artisan pizza cooked in an

open kitchen in a wood-burning oven. In addition, we serve handmade, from scratch

artisan pasta, appetizers, salads and house made desserts.

As a server you will be the heartbeat of the restaurant from greeting hello and setting the tone of the meal through handling payment and saying see again soon. You will help guide guests to make decisions on what to order, and ensure every detail is in Katie’s way delivering and exceptional meal. You will manage the flow of service, anticipating customer needs and keeping the team in sync.

• Confidently be a guide to our food and beverages answering questions and making recommendations
• Capture details and the needs of guest and cascade the information
• Ensure the delivery of the food and drinks and that the guests have everything they need
• Be communicative! We cannot stress how imperative this is. All things at Katie’s

revolve around this foundation-- food, service, history, music, art, the experience and promoting an all-inclusive environment. Through this we will exceed all expectations, both guest and employee.

• Manage large and small parties simultaneously without sacrificing quality
• Take pride in your work from side work to special projects
• Be aware of crucial safety issues including allergies and dietary restrictions
• Master the point-of-sale inputting accurate orders
• Handle cash and card transactions quickly and efficiently

• Multiple years of success working as a server in a full-service restaurant
• Be welcoming, endlessly positive and expert in service
• Have strong attention to detail and efficient in execution while maintaining the high standards
• Be able to describe in great detail the menu, painting a picture for the guests
• Work with agility and be adaptable, embracing change
• Take pride in not only your section but the entire restaurant helping out where needed
• The ability to work with a service mindset in a friendly organized way even when busy Provide generous communication to EVERYONE
• Serve as a guide and a team player with no job too big or small
• Remain approachable, professional and positive even in stressful situations
• Have the ability and the willingness to learn
• Embrace feedback and make adjustments when needed

* Strongly preferred Certification with TIPS or Serv Safe

• Ability to walk, stand, carry plates and trays for extended time
• Must be able to work inside the restaurant and outside on the patio.
• Must be able to move or transport items up to 40 pounds
• Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
• Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
