Overview

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) position is a development-focused role designed to prepare candidates for a future CVS Store Manager role. The program includes 16 weeks of self‑paced, collaborative training with virtual and hands‑on learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively engage with your District Leader and store leaders in Key Learning Experiences to support your path to promotion.
  • Support the store as a management team member; lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies.
  • Engage colleagues in the company's purpose of “helping people on their path to better health.”
  • Accept promotion roles within the designated market and work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing to support and lead the team.
  • Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service.
  • Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  • Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
  • Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market.
  • Willingness to accept promotion to Store Manager at any location in the designated market.
Compensation & Benefits

Full‑time position: 40 hours per week. Pay range: $18.50 – $26.25 per hour (base). Benefits include medical, dental, vision coverage; paid time off; retirement savings options; wellness programs; and other resources. Additional benefit details are provided during the application process.
