Job Title: Front End Teammate
Reports To: Store Manager

• Provide excellent guest service by smiling, greeting and thanking all guests.
• Process guest purchases quickly and accurately.
• Weigh and scan merchandise.
• Respond to guest questions/requests and explain store policies in a courteous manner.
• Prevent loss of money and merchandise through proper handling, price checks, coupon and check procedures, and accurate identification of produce.
• Bag guest purchases quickly; ensure bags are filled but not overloaded and merchandise is not damaged.
• Clean check-stand area by sweeping floors, dusting shelves, cleaning check-lanes, registers and scales.
• Ensure safety of self, guests and teammates by following store safety rules and reporting hazards to a supervisor.
• Understand operation, safety requirements, and use of the electronic cash register, scanner, scale and intercom system.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by managers, including substituting for absent teammates during peak periods.

• Inside work with variations in heat, cold, dust, and humidity caused by the opening of store entrance doors.
• Stand on tile or concrete for the duration of shift.

• Basic mathematical ability (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Able to count and verify guest change.
• Understanding of checks, WIC vouchers, credit or debit, and EBT transactions.
• Ability to give and receive complex verbal instructions or descriptions to and from supervisors or co-workers concerning store policies and procedures and use of equipment.
• Ability to read and write English. Able to read instructions, labels, printed paper and forms.
• Ability to make appropriate judgments concerning guests and the checkout of purchases.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
