Performs a variety of clerical administrative and typing support duties relating to retail and or services operations.
Duties and Responsibilities- Receives invoice orders with completed merchandise from vendor manufacturer. Checks merchandise against appropriate documents for accuracy. Prepares Supplemental Reports of Goods Received RGRs for retail and/or service departments following established procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining cost accounting records for assigned service areas of the exchange.
- Prepares monthly and other periodic reports relating to the volume of business transactions conducted on a timely basis.
- Maintains mechanized and manual control records and logs for assigned department. Ensures maintenance of adequate supply stock levels.
- Processes payroll timecards and attaches Absence Record SS 241 verifying accuracy. Forwards to Services Manager Payroll Office for processing.
- Maintains control over incoming and outgoing mail.
- Types a variety of material such as letters reports memoranda etc. utilizing automated word processing equipment and or typewriter.
- Prepares Merchandise Transfers MTs for stock being transferred out of the store to another exchange location.
- Annotates and distributes copies of each document to appropriate departments.
- Calculates totals of Retail Price Changes RPCs on damages and slow‑moving merchandise by description, quantity and cost price.
- Forwards information to appropriate personnel and keeps management apprised of status.
- Receives and makes telephone calls to vendors. Answers inquiries or refers calls to supervisor or other appropriate personnel.
- May also perform Salesclerk or Cashier Checker duties such as operating a cash register completing required sales reports, monitoring change fund, and conducting storewide inventories.
- Carries out a courtesy policy and service.
- Exercises tact good manners and courtesy when serving and assisting customers and fellow associates.
- Focusing on the customer or fellow associate responds to inquiries and provides assistance in a timely and friendly manner.
- Understands that the customer comes first and actively seeks to become knowledgeable concerning store policies merchandise sold and services offered.
- Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor who makes assignments.
- Work is performed independently within the framework of established policies procedures and regulations.
- Refers unusual problems to supervisor or higher graded associate for assistance. Review is made for accuracy and adequacy of procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
One year progressively responsible clerical or office work of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position.

Substitution of Education for ExperienceOne to two-year academic study above the high school level may be substituted for each 6 months of 1 year of general experience.
