Overview
Service Deli Clerks are responsible for preparing, slicing, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and merchandising the department’s deli products. Deli products include deli meats, cheeses, salads, sandwiches, dips, gourmet and hot case items. They inform customers about our deli products and services and help increase sales by handing out food samples and by recommending additional items to customers. They work with equipment like fryers and slicers, and use store intercoms to announce special promotions and weekly specials.
They must adhere to strict standards of sanitation, food safety and personal hygiene. Bakery Clerks work in the Bakery Department, preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising cakes, pies, rolls, muffins, breads and other baked goods. They inform customers about our bakery products and services and often ask customers to try samples of bakery products as a way to increase sales.
They work with equipment like ovens, proofers and frequently use store intercoms to announce promotions and weekly specials. They must adhere to strict standards of sanitation, food safety and personal hygiene.
- Prepare, slice, wrap, weigh, price, and merchandise deli products.
- Inform customers about deli products and services.
- Increase sales by handing out food samples and recommending additional items.
- Work with fryers and slicers and use store intercoms to announce special promotions and weekly specials.
- Adhere to strict standards of sanitation, food safety, and personal hygiene.
- Prepare, bake, package, price, and merchandise cakes, pies, rolls, muffins, breads, and other baked goods.
- Inform customers about bakery products and services.
- Ask customers to try samples of bakery products to increase sales.
- Operate ovens, proofers, and other equipment.
- Announce promotions and weekly specials via store intercom.
- Maintain strict standards of sanitation, food safety, and personal hygiene.
- Serve customers, set up baked goods, learn to operate mixers, ovens, scales, ice pastries, fryer, slicer and other cutting tools, display products, maintain supplies, clean work area.
- Ring‑Tender accept payment on orders and other duties as assigned.
- Standing, Reaching, Stooping, Kneel, Bending, Move, Communicate.
- Frequently lift 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Minimum Age – 18.
- Education – High School or GED.
- Shifts – 4 to 8 hours.
