Position Overview
This individual will help keep a high-volume retail account running smoothly by managing orders, inventory coordination, shipping documentation, reporting, and communication across internal and external teams. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys detail-oriented work, is confident working with data, and can identify operational issues before they affect retail execution.
The initial focus will be supporting the rollout of multiple beauty brands across several hundred retail locations. As the company expands, this person may take on operational responsibilities for additional national retail partners.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the daily operational needs of a major national retail customer during a significant store rollout.
- Process and track electronic retail documents through SPS Commerce, including orders, shipping notifications, invoices, and related transactions.
- Review incoming orders, confirm product availability, and help ensure accurate and timely fulfillment.
- Maintain product and account information while supporting new item setup, replenishment activity, and promotional programs.
- Work with a Southern California third-party warehouse to coordinate incoming inventory, customer shipments, stock transfers, and delivery timelines.
- Assist with demand planning by reviewing order trends, expected sales, and available inventory.
- Flag potential shortages, excess inventory, shipment delays, or other operational concerns and recommend next steps.
- Develop recurring reports covering sales performance, inventory position, product movement, and account activity.
- Communicate regularly with international colleagues across commercial planning, finance, supply chain, and product launch functions.
- Help ensure production schedules, inventory levels, and shipping activity remain aligned with retailer requirements.
- Provide operational support for other large retail customers as the U.S. business continues to grow.
Candidate Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent track record of producing accurate work.
- Comfortable working with large amounts of order, inventory, and sales information.
- Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables and lookup formulas.
- Experience using SPS Commerce or another EDI platform is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic purchase orders, shipping documentation, invoicing, and retail compliance requirements.
- Prior experience supporting a large retailer, retail account, or wholesale customer.
- Experience in beauty, consumer products, or another inventory-driven industry is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with warehouses, retail partners, and internationally based teams.
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple deadlines within a growing organization.
- Three or more years of related experience is preferred, although an analytically strong candidate earlier in their career may also be considered.
