Job OverviewThe Vertical Sales (VS) Representative is a strategic, overlay sales role responsible for driving new business growth across North, Central, and South America—primarily focused on North America. Unlike traditional Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), the VS does not operate within a geographic territory but instead focuses on vertical-specific prospecting and enterprise account development. This role works within a matrix structure and collaborates closely with RSMs and other stakeholders to identify, qualify, and close high-value sales opportunities, with annual revenues exceeding $250K.
RoleObjectives
To drive strategic revenue growth in a designated vertical market through proactive prospecting, solution selling, and business development. The VS is expected to identify and secure new target accounts, promote Axiomtek’s hybrid product and service offerings, and lead strategic pursuits with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Drive new vertical-specific sales, focusing on opportunities exceeding $250K annually.
- Identify and qualify new opportunities via self-sourcing (cold calling, networking, trade shows, etc.) and provided leads.
- Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers for strategic alignment and opportunity handoff.
- Lead as the main contact for target accounts, coordinating technical and product resources.
- Transition accounts from products to solutions when appropriate to maximize value.
- Develop deep industry knowledge, including customer pain points and emerging trends.
- Support marketing initiatives such as content development and trade shows.
- Participate in sales planning, forecasting, and go-to-market strategies.
- Maintain accurate opportunity data in Salesforce and follow internal sales processes.
- Provide feedback to Product Management on market demands.
- Leverage corporate resources like systems engineers and product managers during the sales cycle.
- Adhere to the company's Quality Management System.
- Solution selling, prospecting, and relationship management expertise.
- Strong business acumen and industry knowledge.
- CRM proficiency, especially with Salesforce.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with sales tools like QCBD, PLM, Kiss Flow.
- Self-motivated with high initiative and energy.
- Team-oriented with experience in matrix organizations.
- Skilled in developing C-level relationships and navigating complex buying groups.
- Technical curiosity and ability to grasp product concepts.
- Experience with hybrid business models of COTS and custom solutions.
- Experience working with channel partners and ecosystems.
This is a nationwide role requiring occasional travel to our offices in Methuen, MA or City of Industry, CA.
