Overview
Senior Sales Account Manager – responsible for building and maintaining strategic customer relationships, driving sales growth for key product lines, and leading high-value accounts for Smithfield Foods.
Responsibilities- Direct Sales Responsibility:
Accountable for achieving budgeted sales of consumer goods to key customers. - Develop and achieve maximum sales volume consistent with sales projections for assigned accounts.
- Maintain business with existing accounts to ensure continued growth.
- Use consumer and customer insights to enhance sales performance.
- Implement and execute sales plans to promote product lines.
- Maintain current knowledge of product management, marketing, R&D, and pricing to support sales objectives.
- Communicate product availability, logistics, specifications, and pricing to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure prompt and equitable resolution of customer complaints or issues.
- Lead a positive employee experience through coaching and development of team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field (or equivalent education and experience) and 8+ years of relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience in team management, development, or project leadership.
- Strong knowledge of the food industry or retail channels.
- Experience with customer‑focused, fact‑based selling and data tools (e.g., IRI, Nielsen).
- Excellent critical thinking, problem‑solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational planning and adaptability to fast‑paced, dynamic environments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
- Preferred: SAP experience.
- Sitting for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Regular standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Travel as needed.
Salary range: $80,000.00 – $ per year. Relocation package available.
