As a Crop Protection Field Sales Representative (FSR), you will support the growth of Bayer Crop Science in Northeast Missouri by engaging with retailers, dealers and growers to propose integrated solutions, manage sales activities, and deliver excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve assigned sales targets with Bayer products in close coordination with squad‑mates and act as an owner of squad‑agreed business goals.
  • Develop and implement dealer business plans, including proactive forecasting, inventory management and product line demand planning, setting business direction, and coordinating follow‑ups with dealers.
  • Serve as a key business consultant to retailers and dealers, effectively selling the value of Bayer Crop Science products and demonstrating proof of product performance versus competition.
  • Collaborate with squad‑mates (Field Sales Reps, Sales Agronomist, Technical Agronomists and Digital Enablement Leads) to maximize services, information, and sales to preferred growers and key customer accounts.
  • Gather, assimilate, and analyze market and competitive information, using data and strong business acumen to make key decisions, manage inventory concerns, and drive both short‑ and long‑term business plans for key accounts and your area.
  • Effectively manage expenses, discretionary dollars, and program payments to enable top‑ and bottom‑line growth, ensure execution and fulfillment of national and regional marketing programs, and support program compliance.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with top growers and retailers, acting as the business expert for these customers, planning for their evolving business needs, and partnering with squad‑mate FSRs/Sales Agronomists to deliver an integrated customer experience.
  • Show initiative in expanding selling skills and product/portfolio knowledge, mentor FSR interns, trainees or more junior FSRs as requested by leadership, and manage area claims per Bayer Crop Science policy through effective problem solving, execution, administration, and resource management.
  • Travel approximately 60% of the time with significant daily face‑to‑face customer interaction in a predominantly rural environment to grow market share of Crop Protection business and create demand for seed growth, seed and trait, and chemistry within the territory.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated product, portfolio, and agronomic knowledge, with the ability to translate technical features into customer value.
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, oral, and written) with proven ability to influence, build trust, and collaborate across diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated initiative, assertiveness, and a strong drive for results, with solid business acumen, account planning, influencing, and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in financial, time, and territory management, with a proven ability to multi‑task and prioritize in a rapid‑paced, matrixed environment.
  • Strong user‑level computer and presentation skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, plus demonstrated digital acumen and ability to analyze data to influence decisions.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 60%) and live/work in a rural environment, with a strong interest in supporting collaboration and teamwork.
  • Ability to drive for the company in a manner that may fall under DOT/FMCSA jurisdiction, including safely hauling trailers, product, supplies, or equipment, and the ability to pass a driving record background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in sales, marketing, account management or agriculture, or other education level with 7+ years of experience listed.
  • Experience in field sales within crop protection, seeds, or traits, with direct responsibility for territory sales and average direct sales responsibility depending on territory.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $70,000–$105,000, plus bonus or commission opportunities.
  • Health, vision, dental, retirement, paid time off, sick leave and other standard benefits.
