Position Overview

Travel Consultant – sells Travel Agency products and services and provides key travel-related member entitlement services. Responsible for servicing the needs of members and non-members, adding member value through MRM by educating members about additional products and services. Makes outbound calls as needed to support goal achievement, including participation in the club's social media programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sell foreign and domestic travel related products and services.
  • Utilize lead management tools and resources to cultivate new business and build repeat business, entering all quotes in club technology.
  • Advise clients on foreign and domestic travel requirements, protection plans, and related trip advisory information.
  • Follow all policies and procedures, provide accurate documentation of all transactions.
  • Maintain product knowledge to support the organization’s Preferred Supplier program and achieve established sales and cross‑sell goals.
  • Issue international driving permits and passport photos.
  • Provide air, car, hotel, rail reservations and ticketing for members and non‑members.
  • Utilize appropriate computer systems to fulfill travel requests.
  • Track and maintain all transactions for accuracy, including required supporting documentation and compliance with club and travel policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client/member information in accordance with federal/state laws and club policies.
  • Research and compare supplier rates to make trip recommendations based on client’s requested experience, budget and needs.
  • Identify cross‑sell and up‑sell opportunities based on members’ product needs and service requests.
  • Provide sales leads to other departments as appropriate.
  • Maintain all administrative requirements at acceptable levels (wage & hour compliance, expense reports, training attendance, etc.).
  • Resolve difficult situations independently, seeking assistance from branch management when escalated discussions are required.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of decisions and explain write‑offs or shortages to management.
Qualifications
  • High School GED required;
    Associate’s degree preferred.
  • 4‑6 years experience in travel agency or sales.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of organization’s operating areas, products, and services;
    Branch Operations delivery channels desirable.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Moderate analytical and time management skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations.
  • Advanced knowledge and training on computer systems used for member travel requests and travel agency accounting systems preferred.
  • Proficient in general typing, Windows, Outlook, Word, and Internet/Intranet access.
  • Knowledge of club systems (e.g., TSTApollo, Viewpoint) and preferred vendor websites.
  • Proven track record in travel sales.
  • Must maintain systems knowledge for ticketing of airlines, cruises, and rail.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, flexible hours, and attend off‑site training and events (e.g., travel shows).
Travel Requirements

May require taking educational trips for job knowledge (approximately 10% proficiency).
