Regional Sales Manager

Position Description

Provide product demonstration, customer support/service, provide distributor support, pre-qualify and assist customers with financing, sales, communicate with other team members concerning quotes, provide coverage where there is no sales presence at the General Manager’s discretion, manage specific territory of outside sales, set‑up & attend trade shows, maintain open communication with co‑workers. In accordance with the goals, policies, and procedures of our company, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining a thorough commercial and technical knowledge of our products, updating personal knowledge of new products and concepts, and incorporating competitive product information into sales presentations.

The role involves traveling a defined sales district, maintaining direct contact with existing and potential customers, educating them on the product line, and analyzing customer equipment needs and job conditions to promote interest in our products. The incumbent anticipates customers’ needs, suggests more productive machines and attachments, and treats all customer communications with utmost confidentiality. They maintain a flow of new ideas for cost‑cutting and sales techniques, execute sales by developing estimate sheets and formal quotes, advise management of needed assistance or tools, facilitate production of sales orders, process required reports and photographs for used equipment trades, coordinate customer visits to the factory, ensure delivery of goods and services, follow up to resolve customer issues, track persistent problems, communicate daily with the office, and maintain travel schedules and expense controls.

Reporting includes weekly itineraries, customer sales contact reports, monthly reviews, expense reports, forecasts, and quarterly evaluations of territory, lost sales, competitive activity, and product recommendations. The role also involves collecting competitive intelligence, reporting improperly operating equipment, assisting new employees with orientation, and adhering to safety procedures.
