Energy Panel Structures, Inc. (EPS) is an industry leader in commercial and residential construction with headquarters in Graettinger, Iowa and locations in Perryville, MO;
Geneva, NY; and Urbandale, IA. EPS is seeking a District Sales Manager to join our team at the Perryville, Missouri facility.

Role Overview

This role requires working across multiple markets to sell building components and pre‑engineered, custom‑designed wood frame building structures. You will own an assigned territory, deliver high‑level service to existing customers, and proactively develop a pipeline of new dealer business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct, face‑to‑face sales targeting General Contractors, Framers, Homebuilders, Commercial Builders, Multifamily Builders, and Project Investors for building components, including roof trusses, floor trusses, panelized wall systems, and other building packages.
  • Prepare and present bids, proposals, and estimates.
  • Make sales calls to former and prospective customers, securing down payments and necessary documentation.
  • Assign and focus on a specific geographic territory; conduct all sales activity within that area.
  • Analyze sales opportunities, saturation, and marketing focus within the assigned territory.
  • Aggressively prospect, cold‑call, and nurture new and existing clients.
  • Maintain awareness of the area marketing plan and develop solutions to sell and close business.
  • Schedule regular client and prospect visits; document lead generation and interactions in the CRM.
  • Stay informed of territory developments and competitive position.
  • Conduct business with integrity and address customer concerns proactively.
  • Primary territory:
    Greater St. Louis, MO area.

Requirements
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience in sales or customer service with a proven record of sales achievement.
  • 2 years in construction contracting business.
  • 5 years in direct sales or equivalent.
  • Ability to travel to, around, and through all parts of a building construction site.
  • In‑depth knowledge of market, competition, and operational factors in the building construction industry.
  • Adept at basic mathematics.
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability with tools of carpentry and general construction.
  • Skill in developing and nurturing long-term customer relationships.
  • Rapid learning of the pre‑engineered, custom building industry, including reading complex building drawings and regulations.
  • Positive sales attitude with energy and goal focus.
  • Commitment to gold‑standard client service delivery.
  • Strong presentation, influence, negotiation, and closing skills; strong interpersonal, time‑management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
Work Environment / Physical Activity
  • Office/field setting with sedentary to moderate effort; occasional use of a computer, copier, etc.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving objects up to 50 lb.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and endure dusty or noisy environments; travel may be required locally.
  • Must be able to work in hot and cold atmospheres; must meet safety policy requirements.
