Role Overview
Our current opening is for a Controls Sales Account Executive in our St. Louis office. Account Executive will be responsible for providing customer solutions while maximizing account penetration and maintaining long‑term customer relationships.
As a Controls Sales Account Executive, you will:Develop and maintain long‑term customer relationships while maximizing retention across assigned business accounts
Identify and pursue new opportunities with both existing and prospective customers
Convert leads into sales opportunities by applying the appropriate sales process and coordinating internal resources
Assign and collaborate with the appropriate sales team members, ensuring clear communication of next steps throughout the sales cycle
Build and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers, including Facility Managers, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Purchasing teams
Create and execute account‑specific business plans to support long‑term, profitable partnerships
Prepare and deliver account reports, proposals, and quotes for repairs, system upgrades, energy solutions, and service agreements (time & material and fixed‑price)
Proactively follow up with customers to secure renewals of service contracts and ongoing business
Utilize knowledge of HVAC controls systems to effectively position solutions and services
Leverage experience with computers, networks, databases, and operating systems to support sales activities and customer needs
Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a results‑driven sales professional with a strong background in commercial HVAC controls and a passion for building lasting client relationships.
Proven experience in commercial HVAC controls sales or related technical sales
Strong ability to identify, develop, and close new business opportunities
Skilled in account management with a focus on long‑term customer retention
Ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders across customer organizations
Experience creating and executing strategic account plans
Strong communication and presentation skills with a consultative sales approach
Technically proficient with PCs, networks, databases, and operating systems
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities
Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and driven to exceed sales targets
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams to deliver customer solutions
Requirements- Three to five years of sales experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Final candidates must successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background investigation, including criminal and motor vehicle check.
