Role Overview
As an Account Manager (Client Manager) you will be responsible for selling Optiv security services and security technology solutions to a select few strategic accounts in the assigned geographic region. You will own and coordinate all aspects of the sales cycle within these accounts and lead a cross‑functional team—typically including a Solutions Architect, Client Operations Specialist, and services practice personnel—to build and execute a multi‑year strategic account management plan for your top accounts.
Responsibilities- Sell Optiv security services and technology solutions to strategic accounts.
- Own and coordinate all sales cycle activities and manage the pipeline.
- Lead a cross‑functional team to develop and execute multi‑year strategic account plans based on client business, technology, and security goals.
- Engage clients early in the year to understand and document their goals, expectations, and progress.
- Review client goals and progress quarterly with clients and Optiv leadership to ensure achievement of client‑defined goals.
- Build trusted, effective, and productive relationships with client executives.
- Develop a large sales pipeline, ideally 4× assigned targets, and achieve or exceed assigned gross‑margin target.
- Manage accurate, current, and integral forecasts and execute with discipline in alignment with Force Management principles such as MEDDICC and Command of the Message.
- Effectively communicate Optiv’s value proposition related to security services and technologies.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with technology partners and their sales personnel to gain and share leads.
- Initiate, monitor, and mediate communications between clients, technology partners, and Optiv team members.
- Maintain collaborative and effective internal communications regarding opportunities, requirements, and client satisfaction.
- 3‑5+ years of IT product or service‑based sales experience, ideally in cybersecurity.
- Proven track record of building and executing territory and account prospecting and expansion plans that exceed assigned quotas.
- Experience engaging cross‑functional resources—including sales, pre‑sales technical support, and other support personnel—in an effective manner.
- Demonstrated ability to build productive business relationships with key executives and sponsors within assigned accounts.
- Effective presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation experience.
- History of exceeding plan and expectations consistently.
Total Target Compensation ranges from $140,000 to $250,000+ annually, comprising base salary and an uncapped bonus plan earned on new and renewal business.
