Area Manager, Account Manager
The Regional Business Director (RBD) is accountable for providing leadership, direction, and developmental guidance to a team of sales professionals in pursuit of commercial objectives. Reporting to the Area Vice President of Sales, the RBD will participate in the development and execution of strategic and tactical plans to meet and exceed sales goals and business objectives while remaining aligned with Xeris’ values.

- Recruit, hire, & retain top talent; build and lead a high‑performing sales team aligned with organizational goals and business objectives.
- Develop team members through ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable culture focused on continuous improvement, professional growth, and grit.
- Use performance metrics and market insights to support business growth and accountability.
- Enhance field performance by leveraging internal resources, expertise, and best practices.
- Conduct weekly field visits, business reviews, and coaching sessions to identify opportunities and drive results.
- Motivate and coach sales professionals to successfully execute business strategies and maximize territory performance.
- Provide clear verbal and written feedback to support employee development and performance.
- Lead the region to achieve and exceed sales and performance objectives.
- Serve as a trusted representative of Xeris, championing the company’s mission and vision while driving strategic value for customers.
- Encourage collaboration, best‑practice sharing, and proactive problem‑solving across the team.
- Lead effective sales meetings and communicate organizational priorities and expectations clearly.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to align strategic priorities, share insights, and drive coordinated execution of regional initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians and key opinion leaders through consistent communication.
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in bioscience (Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Diagnostics, Biotechnology or Lifesciences) commercial roles and a minimum of 2–5 years of experience in sales leadership.
- Recent experience in rescue markets, specialty spaces, diabetes, medical device or complex selling environments is highly desirable.
- Ability to influence and drive business performance through establishment and management of key performance metrics.
- Ability to hold a team accountable for organizational goals and act when team members are not meeting expectations.
- Strong track record leading teams, demonstrating the ability to coach and mentor others to reach or exceed organization goals.
- Strong track record of building culture, inspiring and creating trusted, motivated and empowered teams aligned to the company Vision & Mission.

Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Position requires both vehicle and airline travel; must have a valid U.S. state‑issued driver’s license. Must be able to work in assigned territory, support sales professionals in the field 3–4 days per week, attend meetings and participate in other business‑related activities up to 75% travel.
Compensation and Benefits- Base salary range: $180,000–$240,000.
- Field Sales role employees are eligible for a quarterly commission structure. Non‑Sales role employees are eligible for an annual bonus.
