Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is one component of the Total Rewards program. Salary Range: $64,480–$87,360+ annually. Additional short‑term incentives such as bonus or commission and potential long‑term incentives including stock awards may be earned. Position

Summary

The Banking Center Manager leads, manages and coaches a team of sales and service professionals to meet and exceed performance targets. The role focuses on business development, operational excellence, and delivering an outstanding customer experience while mentoring staff and fostering a solution‑oriented culture.

Responsibilities
  • Direct staff work to identify customer financial needs.
  • Set expectations, goals and career development plans for branch staff.
  • Generate portfolio growth by identifying cross‑sell opportunities and deepening relationships.
  • Integrate business partners (Commercial, Small Business, Home Lending, Financial Advisors) into the branch team to drive sales.
  • Maintain proficiency in lending products, including consumer and real estate lending.
  • Develop and execute effective business plans to grow market share within the community.
  • Call on small business customers to generate new business while maintaining existing relationships.
  • Develop COI relationships.
  • Provide timely performance feedback through weekly check‑ins, huddles and observation sessions.
  • Review and evaluate branch activity reports (staffing, loan and deposit growth, overdrafts, charge‑offs, audits).
  • Create workforce stability and foster an inclusive team.
  • Possibly manage multiple branch locations.
  • Serve as a community influencer and participate in local organizations and activities.
  • Track sales, referrals and opportunities in the customer information software.
  • Recommend personal products, trusts, HSAs, IRAs and business products to customers.
  • Participate in onsite customer visits to promote the Perks at Work Program and Merchant Services.
  • Conduct outbound teleconsulting to grow relationships.
  • Lead strategic district initiatives to improve processes and results.
  • Complete assigned learning activities and achieve personal and team goals.
  • Provide coaching and act as backup BCM in other locations.
  • Demonstrate Midland States Bank core values.
  • Travel occasionally for training and team meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of sales management experience with a proven track record of driving sales.
  • Minimum 5 years of retail sales and customer service experience.
  • National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration required.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25–50lb bags of coin and currency.
  • Multilingual speakers encouraged.
