Job Overview
The Territory Manager is responsible for the sales and promotion of Hubbell Killark products through distribution to end‑users, and for attaining assigned sales quotas within a territory. The primary focus is engineering, contractors, integrators, and distributor sales. The territory is the Greater Houston area; candidates must reside in that area.
Responsibilities- Manage an assigned territory to ensure effective, efficient, and economical use of available time and company assets to achieve sales objectives.
- Conduct sales calls on distributors and all potential users/consumers of Killark products.
- Train distributor personnel to sell and promote Hubbell products; manage distributor inventory/investments to maintain proper inventories and maximize return on investment.
- Conduct sales training, internal and external, within the district and region as directed by field management.
- Conduct formal sales presentations to various groups, distributors, and end‑users, communicating in person, by letter, telephone, or at trade shows and business functions.
- Communicate through the district manager on any issues, problems, opportunities, successes, and new products.
- Service distributors and end‑users while creating demand for the company’s product offering.
- Build rapport and strong relationships with distribution, end‑users, and specifying influences.
- Communicate through the district manager on new products, product modifications, and sales tools.
- Cover open territories with assignments made by the district manager.
- Serve as a customer information center for literature requests, catalog requests, technical detail, drawings, and cross‑reference information.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of experience in sales, preferably in a similar industry or with comparable product or service (required).
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas (required).
- Excellent persuasive interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with potential and existing clients.
- Customer‑oriented mindset with a focus on building long‑term relationships.
- Resilience to handle rejection and setbacks while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong organizational skills to manage leads, follow‑ups, and sales appointments efficiently.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with CRM software or sales tracking systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the sales team and other departments to ensure customer needs are met effectively.
