PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Sales of the Company’s television library, feature films and short-form content around the world in all media: television, digital (SVOD, AVOD/FVOD, EST/TVOD, FAST), home entertainment (DVD), and theatrical.

The Sr. Coordinator/Manager, Global Sales and Distribution reports to, and is a critical partner to the VP, Global Distribution. This role is responsible for supporting the sales function for the department, including some foreign markets. This role is tasked with being an expert on Jim Henson Rights Management, condition of assets and helping to share that knowledge accordingly.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
  • Approve and track distribution partner agreements and sales agent activity.
  • Create, maintain and analyze global availability and sales history reporting, including quarterly updates on sales expirations and upcoming renewals.
  • Work closely with Finance team to ensure all royalty-based payments are tracked and received on time
  • Own internal sales contract circulation process.
  • Enter details of divisional contracts into rights management database; including Distribution, Consumer Products, Publishing, and Interactive.
  • General database maintenance as needed.
  • Track all pitches to clients & record resulting feedback and compile post-market reports.
  • Frequent communication with domestic and international partners to facilitate the management/tracking of global launch calendars and performance/ratings across all media.
  • Manage and maintain close contact with client marketing and technical delivery contacts to ensure deadlines are met and material delivery is completed as per contract.
  • Create sales materials, in cooperation with Marketing and Production teams (i.e. brochures, pitch decks, internal presentation materials, sales trailers, etc.)
  • Domestic and international sales market support as needed, inclusive of convention registrations, travel, accommodation, shipping, etc.
  • Monitor internal communications to ensure the department is working effectively with other departments to move projects forward
  • Support Sales Division in all other global initiatives covering The Jim Henson Company’s new and classic IP including TV series, feature films and other Henson properties.
  • Additional duties and special projects as assigned
JOB-RELATED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate with clarity and professionalism.
  • Shows ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality in dealing with high-profile clientele, talent, and the press.
  • The ability and desire to cold call for sales.
  • Experience interpreting complex contracts and legal documents.
  • Experience with rights management software (Media Rights) and project management a plus.
  • Proactive and responsible team player with the ability to anticipate issues and independently problem solve.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and well organized with the ability prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work well under time constraints and in a fast-paced goal-oriented environment
  • An understanding of financial forecasts.
  • A working understanding of the development and production process of film and television content.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
Work Experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in media sales or acquisitions
  • A background in children’s television, and experience structuring co-productions is a plus.
