Outside Sales Representative

• Cultivate customer relationships, develop new business, and provide innovative solutions to food service customers
• Manage overall sales and relationship efforts for existing and prospective customers within the assigned territory
• Research industry and market trends impacting restaurants within the territory
• Identify and research prospective customers
• Develop and present sales strategies highlighting Gordon Food Service products, services, values, and solutions
• Visit customers within the assigned territory weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly
• Conduct business reviews to identify customer needs and sales growth opportunities
• Provide ongoing training on Gordon Food Service product offerings
• Identify opportunities to add value through product and service offerings
• Balance new customer acquisition with existing relationship development
• Coordinate visits to prospective and existing customers
• Communicate order status and processing updates to customers
• Complete initial 90-day training covering systems, products, sales processes, relationship development, and territory management

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED is required
• Bachelor's degree and/or culinary certificate preferred
• 1 year of prior sales, business, or food service experience
• Maintaining a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record
• Candidates who work for a Gordon Food Service customer must provide a letter of support from their management if selected for the interview process
• Must complete pre-employment drug testing
