Location: Pattonville
Direct the solicitation efforts of the sales staff through effective oral and written communication while overseeing rate, date and space commitments for group room sales within the hotel.
Compiles and/or directs the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales, Front Office, and Housekeeping Departments. Supervise the development and implementation of departmental business plans, annual budgets, and monthly forecasts. Monitor period to date status of sales goals, implement contingency plans and revise reports as necessary.
Develop and conduct persuasive verbal and written sales presentations to prospective clients. Conduct property site inspections with potential large groups. Internally promote LHM marketing programs. Meet with and entertain clients, requiring some travel.
Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies. Make reasonable recommendations to improve potential from various markets.
Work closely with the Reservations Manager to determine the proper selling and control strategy of room sales for the hotel.
Organize and/or attend scheduled Sales Department and related meetings.
Train and develop Sales staff, conduct meaningful performance reviews for the Management Team in the Sales office. Ensure training programs are conducted regularly and LHM’s standards of performance are met. Give guidance and counsel staff toward improvement.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from college or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. College degree with hotel/venue/attractions major is preferred. Prior Sales, Food and Beverage, or Catering experience required.
