The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed the salary range listed above.

This position will be located at the Northeast Regional Office, 1709 Prospect Drive, Macon, Missouri
. You will be joining the Air Pollution Compliance Unit where you will work to protect air quality for the Northeast Region.

• Schedule and conduct environmental inspections of stationary and portable air pollution sources in the Northeast Region.
• Schedule and conduct environmental inspections of regulated asbestos abatement and demolition projects in the Northeast Region.
• Provide compliance and technical assistance to the regulated community and general public on air pollution requirements, both in the office and onsite.
• Schedule and conduct environmental investigations related to air quality concerns.
• Prepare documentation that is timely and accurate (reports, correspondence, photographs, data entry, and forms) and conduct follow‑up work for timely compliance.
• Conduct emergency response to situations that require immediate action, including outside regular work hours.
• Obtain EPA Method 9 certification necessary to evaluate smokestack opacity.
• Attend training and obtain Asbestos Inspector and Asbestos Supervisor licenses.

• A bachelor’s degree and 0-4 years of relevant experience (substitutions may be allowed.) Preferred degree program would include the following:
  Environmental Science or Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Science, Geology, Forestry, Soil Science, Ecology, Wildlife Management, Agriculture, Animal Science, Natural Resource Management, Soil Conservation, or a closely related field.
