Job OverviewThe Biologist will study the fundamental principles of plant life and examine the effects of various environmental and physical conditions. This role requires familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. With limited experience, the biologist will use judgment to plan and achieve goals, performing a variety of tasks under general supervision and typically reporting to a supervisor or manager.
Creativity and latitude are necessary to succeed in this position.
- Work with row crops such as canola, corn, cotton, and soybeans in greenhouses and growth chamber settings.
- Perform duties including sowing, plant care, discarding, cleaning, transplanting, harvesting, and seed processing.
- Stand for long periods due to the nature of the work.
- Maintain attention to detail due to the precise nature of the tasks.
- Adapt to elevated temperatures in greenhouses during warmer months.
- Participate in rotational weekend work as required.
- Experience in controlled environments and growing plants.
- Expertise in plant care and plant identification.
- Knowledge of working with row crops.
- Familiarity with greenhouse and growth chamber operations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Commercial greenhouse experience preferred.
The work environment involves operating within greenhouses and growth chambers, which may have elevated temperatures during warmer months. The position requires standing for long durations and demands high attention to detail. Rotational weekend work may be necessary, and the role involves diverse tasks related to plant care and processing.

Pay and BenefitsPay range: $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
