Exploitation Specialist/Data Manager & Cataloger - Junior at Leidos summary:

Junior exploitation specialist responsible for digitizing, cataloging, preserving, and managing a repository of geospatial, cartographic, imagery, and textual intelligence assets. Duties include metadata validation, cataloging to library standards, archival custodianship, declassification support, QA, and assisting with data repository creation and web interfaces. Requires HS diploma with 2–3 years relevant experience (or preferred GIS bachelor's), TS/SCI clearance, and familiarity with library cataloging standards and anti-malware practices.

Description

The Exploitation Specialist shall engage in the systematic aggregation, organization, preservation, and custodianship of the customer's repository of geospatial and textual artifacts (inclusive of cartographic representations, graphical depictions, optical storage media, textual compilations, intelligence dossiers, handheld imagery, and digital data arrays). The incumbent will oversee the perpetuation of the library's assemblage and ensure the comprehensive discoverability of all informational assets.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Execute the transmutation of analog customer records into digital formats.

  • Undertake custodial operations for the collection, encompassing indexing, encoding, archival, dissemination, and analogous activities.

  • Facilitate the augmentation of the collection by proposing acquisitions predicated on expendable replenishment protocols and bespoke client requisitions.

  • Enforce the application of declassification protocols where pertinent.

  • Render investigatory assistance and ad hoc project support through the utilization of multifarious databases and esoteric source repositories.

  • Contribute to the genesis and sustenance of data repositories, synoptic datasets, tabular compilations, and visual documentation.

  • Assist in the formulation, evaluation, and dissemination of procedural guidelines for web-based interfaces.

  • Populate and curate the customers library systems database and associated collections.

  • Provide auxiliary support for the archival activities of the Library of Congress concerning cartographic and graphical materials.

  • Adhere scrupulously to the established cataloging directives of the customer.

  • Participate in the upkeep of databases and library content, including the incorporation, excision, investigation, rectification, and sanitization of data.

  • Engage in the scrutiny of metadata and the verification of its structural and semantic integrity.

  • Contribute to the provision of Quality Assessment and Management services.

  • Collaborate with affiliated entities, technical authorities, and project leadership as necessitated.

Basic Qualifications
  • Ordinarily necessitates the possession of a High School diploma coupled with 2–3 years of antecedent relevant experience.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI CI Polygraph adjudication.

  • Proficiency in the deployment of anti‑malware software and associated methodologies.

  • Demonstrated familiarity with procedural and operational paradigms of library clerical functions.

  • Comprehension of library cataloging conventions and standards.

  • 1–3 years of substantiated experience in the stewardship and evolution of data repositories.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or a cognate academic discipline.

  • Operational knowledge of clerical methodologies.

  • TS/SCI CI Polygraph clearance.

  • Capacity to adapt to dynamic priorities and directives from supervisory and client entities.

  • Proven aptitude in the orchestration, prioritization, and punctual execution of assignments.

  • Experience in the management of scientific collections.

Acquaintance with library sciences and standards such as MARC 21, AACR2R, and RDA.
