On-Call Archaeologist-Statewide (California)
Cogstone Resource Management is seeking an on-call Archaeologist to support our team for ongoing work on various projects throughout California. The role includes pre-field research, field surveys, monitoring, site testing, determining exact location of sites, marking them on maps and aerial photographs, and ensuring safe and timely execution of work assignments according to established standards and procedures. Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods (up to ten hours) and work well with construction crews and colleagues, following specific protocols.
Availability to travel may be required.
- Fieldwork and monitoring experience (preferred)
- Experience with ArcGIS/Field Maps and Survey
123 (preferred) - Confidence and comfort in construction environments
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Excellent note‑taking ability
- Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field
- Strong analytical and communication skills, including clear and confident written and verbal communication with all project team members, client representatives, and other staff
- Proficiency in Word and Excel
- Ability to work in a small team environment
