Job Summary

Force Renewal Programs are designed to attract students & recent graduates with management/leadership potential to careers as Federal employees with the Air Force Civilian Service. This is accomplished by recruiting, selecting, and training high‑caliber candidates so they become competent, effective, and productive employees in a variety of career fields. Training and developmental opportunities are provided, and employees are prepared to complete required training and assignments successfully.

• GS‑07: Performs work as a physicist in support of conventional projects assigned to higher‑level scientists. Plans work procedures, selects standards and data, researches scientific information from multiple sources and disciplines, carries out special assignments to enhance training, and remains current with emerging techniques and professional developments.
• GS‑09: Plans and conducts own work procedures to support projects assigned to higher‑grade physicists. Performs scientific assignments involving interrelated tasks that are screened by a higher‑grade scientist, assists in problem solving, develops written summaries for higher‑level scientists or customers, presents briefings as required, and keeps abreast of emerging scientific techniques and developments.

• Education:
  
  Must provide transcripts from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Transcripts must include transferred hours; official copies are required upon selection. Degree audits and unofficial transcripts are not accepted.
• Eligibility:
  Current post‑secondary students and recent graduates (degree earned within the last two years) are eligible. Applicants must submit required documents, including pay plan and series for former federal employees, and proof of Federal service for veterans as applicable.
• Resume:
  Must not exceed two pages, include hours worked per week, dates of employment, and must be legible and professional. Do not include photographs, social media links, or personal information such as age, gender, or social security number.
• Security Clearance:
  Top Secret clearance is required.
