Assistant Chemist - Forsyth, MO

Position SummaryPerforms chemical and physical testing of samples submitted to SORA Laboratories. Maintains the chemistry and physical testing facilities and supplies in good working order. All activities are conducted in accordance with applicable FDA, OSHA, EPA and ISO standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Receive, composite and organize samples submitted to SORA Labs.
- Perform and report the assigned testing of samples. Render pass/fail dispositions based on results.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and instrumentation.
- Record and peer‑review analytical and calibration work performed as required for GMP and laboratory accountability.
- Organize and maintain necessary chemical and reagent stocks.
- Maintain the laboratory facilities in a clean and organized manner.
- Properly handle and dispose of all hazardous waste generated during routine functions.

- High School/GED minimum education required. A Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field is preferred.
- 0 to 3 years of experience in an analytical laboratory.
- Expertise and proficiency with analytical laboratory glassware, equipment and instrumentation.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret methods and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to work independently in an organized and reliable manner.
- Availability to work extended hours, weekends and holidays when needed.
- Capacity to stand for extensive periods; regularly required to walk, sit and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds.
- Analytical laboratory within a factory setting.
- Exposure to raw materials and chemical reagents.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment such as lab coats, gloves, safety glasses and respirators.
Pay range: $41,600.00 - $71,000.00.
