On-Call Archaeologist- Coast

About the Role

Cogstone Resource Management is seeking an on‑call Archaeologist to support ongoing work within the Central Coast of California. The role involves pre‑field research, field surveys, monitoring, site testing, determining exact locations, marking sites on maps and aerial photographs, and ensuring that work assignments are carried out safely and on time according to established standards and procedures.

Must be able to stand for ten hours (most projects work eight‑hour days), work well with construction crews, follow specific protocols, and be available for travel as needed.

Salary Range: $25–$33 per hour, DOE. Part‑time.

• Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with project team members, client representatives, and other staff.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Ability to work in a small team environment.

• Fieldwork and monitoring experience preferred.
• Experience in ArcGIS/Field Maps and Survey
  123 preferred.
• Confidence in working in a construction environment.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Excellent note‑taking ability.
