Weather Forecaster - Mid
Ensure the execution and delivery of detailed weather support for 24/7/365 client operations. Assist with the development and integration of relevant weather data into advanced systems and technologies. Integrate all weather environmental data from multiple sources to assess current and forecasted weather environments, and issue weather products including alert bulletins and forecasting anomaly assessments. Perform quick‑look and forensic assessments to determine potential weather impacts to operations.
Ensure the quality and timeliness of the production process by using data or product monitoring tools, assessing the impact of missing or erroneous data, and validating and verifying weather models, products, and standard operating procedures.
- 2+ years of experience with weather forecasting and meteorology.
- Knowledge of real‑time weather programs, computer interfaces, and oceanographic, meteorological, and space atmospheric conditions.
- Understanding of meteorological principles, theories, standard practices, methods, and techniques sufficient to perform observations, forecasts, and analysis.
- Analytical skills to produce detailed analyses of complex information from multiple sources, including database manipulation.
- Ability to quickly identify and respond to anomalous weather environments.
- Ability to adapt scientific techniques to emerging tools, data, models, and equipment.
- Strong planning, organization, and interaction skills to implement recommendations that may require extensive changes in concepts and procedures.
- Capability to develop forecasts in support of operational clients.
- TS/SCI clearance.
- HS diploma or GED.
- Experience with USAF airborne ISR programs.
- Experience authoring technical documentation and training materials.
- Experience managing or directing a team.
- Knowledge of Joint and DoD structure, organizations, mission or functions, inter‑relationships, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in meteorology or a related field.
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must be eligible for TS/SCI clearance.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary range: $61,900 – $141,000 (annualized USD). Compensation is based on location, experience, qualifications, and contract requirements. Benefits include health, life, disability, financial, and retirement plans; paid leave; professional development; tuition assistance; work‑life programs; and dependent care. Full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours per week are eligible for Booz Allen’s benefit programs.
Work ModelRemote, hybrid, or onsite work arrangements may be required based on the role and customer facility needs.
