Position: CBRN Support Specialist (TSS Leve II)
Location: Fort Leonard Wood

Summary

This non‑supervisory position conducts advanced CBRN detection operations supporting federal mission partners, supports operational planning, and focuses on work execution under the guidance of the Federal Lead. The position is responsible for coordinating with stakeholders, managing equipment, planning logistics, developing plans, teaching and training equipment protocols, reporting appropriate information, writing situational reports and after‑action reports, and following up with government stakeholders.

Personnel must be capable of supporting surge deployments, intelligence‑driven operations, National Special Security Events (NSSE), and steady‑state detection missions. Travel, extended hours, 24/7 shift work, weekends, holidays, and recall during contingency operations may be required.

Job Location

This position supports travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites throughout the 54 US States and Territories.

Job Description
  • Conduct CBRN detection operations by coordinating with stakeholders, managing equipment, planning logistics, developing plans, teaching and training equipment protocols to stakeholders.
  • Report information as appropriate, notify chain of command as required, write situational reports and after‑action reports, and follow up with stakeholders in post‑deployment communications.
  • May be called to support PM directly when requested or function as Acting PM for periods no longer than 30 consecutive days.
  • Manage and maintain a file system for regional documentation, including record keeping, following file standards and protocols, and maintaining both electronic and paper files.
  • Maintain equipment, tactics, techniques, and procedure standards by completing all training, including refresher training, in accordance with MDDP policies.
  • Support fleet management by documenting, tracking, submitting, and filing all necessary fleet vehicle information in accordance with MDDP, CWMD, and DHS policies. Reports will be submitted by the 7th of each month covering the entirety of the previous month.
  • Adhere to professional standards and codes of conduct set forth by MDDP, CWMD, and DHS, including dress code, communication standards, social media regulations, and other required policies.
  • Perform responsibilities of Level I TSS with federal oversight as needed.
  • Present clear, concise, and accurate information on the Mobile Detection Deployment Program and its capabilities to a variety of stakeholders and group sizes.
  • Professionally conduct training on and answer questions on policies, procedures, protocols, and equipment of the program to a variety of stakeholders and group sizes.
Qualifications
  • Preference is given to individuals with advanced training and experience on an MDDP team or any of the National Guard CBRN Response Enterprise (CRE) elements, including the Civil Support Team (CST), CBRNE Enhanced Response Force Package (CERFP), Homeland Response Forces (HRF) current/retiring Coast Guard Strike Team, Army Tech Escort, or Special Forces CRD, or other DOD/DHS/DOJ special CBRNE team members.
  • Knowledgeable in using representative Radiation/Nuclear (R/N) detection equipment such as Personal Radiation Detectors (PRD) including spectroscopic/non‑spectroscopic devices, Human Portable Radiation Detection Backpacks, Radiological Isotope Identification Devices (RIIDs), Mobile Radiation Detection Systems, and auxiliary equipment such as radios and radioactive material sources.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • CBRN subject‑matter expert with a minimum of five years’ experience participating in and assisting with CBRN operational planning.
  • Commercial Driver’s License Class B (CDL B) or ability to obtain within three months following contract award.
  • Five or more years of CBRN experience in the operational planning and coordination of detection and preventative activities.
  • Five years’ hands‑on equipment experience, including use of primary and secondary screening devices, spectroscopic devices, and chemical identification equipment utilizing FTIR and Raman technologies.
